Lumpia, pancit palabok, sisig, abodong manok & baboy, lechon ala angie, adobong pusit, sinigang, brownies, biko, chocolate cake… hayyy, looking at the picture and mentioning the food here makes me crave for more of those delicious food! Fortunately, there’s another one coming this Thursday and hopefully I’ll get to join the feast again.
Anyway, those mentioned above were the food we had last Friday at my friends’ joint party celebration. Aside from the abundance of food, a typical Filipino party wouldn’t be complete without music, tadan! Karaoke or videoke will always be present unless someone forgets it but usually food and singing always go hand in hand. Ask any Filipino you know. So yes, there was a lot of singing at the party.
It feels like Saturday today. I was surprised why everybody was referring to yesterday as Monday. Teehee! Well, today is a holiday in Czech Republic and M is at home. So you know why I feel like it’s the weekend. But it has been a sort of depressing day; it has been raining all day, chilly and foggy too but that didn’t stop us from going out. We went to check out the small clothing store within our neighborhood but as expected, small businesses are closed during holidays.
Today, October 28 marks the Independent Czechoslovak State Day from Austria-Hungary.
October 27 was the day little C turned 14 months old!
October 26 was the day we partied at Karel & Floe’s place.
October 25 comes after October 24…. hehehe =)
October 24, little C had a fever.
Little C was overjoyed to see her dad again. As soon as she saw him, she ran and hugged his legs. Haha The whole day, little C sticked to him like a glue. I think she’s afraid he’ll leave again.
We took her for a lunch out coz it was sunny (yeah! sun always plays a major role in our decisions for outdoor activities in this part of the world!). There were many kids in the pizzeria we went to, so little C enjoyed watching them play. She also had her own time walking and picking the flowers. Unfortunately she didn’t like the pancakes we ordered for her but preferred to share with our pizza instead.

Pancakes with fruit fillings.
The rest of the afternoon was uneventful, we spent it sleeping and at night, we went to shop for groceries. What’s important is that the family is together again!
And this little girl is more than happy!

Oh yeah, I’m counting back at one! My ordeal is suppose to end tomorrow but because of circumstances beyond our control (uhhhh! i don’t like that!), I’ll have to content myself with counting over again. It will be better if I’m going to do it with little C, at the end of the week who knows she might be able to master 123 with me. Heh!
Ahhh, you don’t understand what I’m talking here, maybe you need to read the history which you can find here. *wink*
It felt like summer yesterday. It was a warm and sunny day which it made me forget for awhile the current season. I wish everyday would be like that. But as we pased this sad scene of trees shedding their leaves, it was a reminder that autumn is here to stay for the next two months or so heralding the coming of chilly winter.

Even this house in the corner is on a full autumn motif. Fiery red leaves are crawling all over it and eating it up!

Little C enjoying what could be the last weekend of outdoor fun under the sun.

Five more days and I will see him again. =) Days are flying by so fast! Thank God I have little C keeping me company, such busy and wacky days with her but I’m glad that she makes the waiting bearable for me. Thanks also to my parents-in-law who have been alternately helping me watch over and entertain the little girl. At least she gets to interact and play with other people not only mommy all the time. On week nights, Dad would come and take baby C for an hour or two and Mam on the other hand, spends weekends with her. Yesterday, Mam took baby C out for three hours! That gave me ample time to clean, rest a bit, prepare dinner and poofff, three hours had gone by! As of this writing, the baby is with her granny again for another three hours. I’m so blessed!
Got to prepare dinner now before the little girl comes back! Ciao!
ME! I took little C out for a walk this afternoon. Honestly, it was the trash I took out. Hahaha but I could have delayed it till tomorrow but I didn’t coz I really wanted to take the little girl outside. It’s rare to have sunny days lately and since today was one of those days, I wanted her to enjoy being outdoors again. Last summer, we were out almost everyday and she really had a grand time.

So we just walked and walked (I purposely didn’t bring her stroller) getting our share of Mr. Sunshine’s warmth with little C stopping every now and then when she gets distracted by the sounds and sights that appeals to her – the welding works in the nearby construction, the barking of the dogs, kids in their strollers, dogs running around, a broken case of a mobile phone, a friendly woman greeting her… It was a nice day, I savored every minute of it. Just me and my little C.
I think I should create a note which tallies how many times I go to the kitchen each day.
What’s the extraordinary thing about it? kitchen is where you prepare the food and cook, it’s only likely for a homemaker to go there unless it’s along the way to the toilet or if i’m a glutton.

Anyway, aside from my own personal trips to the kitchen, my tiny companion at home always takes my hand and pulls me to the kitchen many times during the day. You should see her happy face as we take small steps towards her heaven. There are many cabinets there, and the handles are within her reach so tinkering with them makes a very tempting past time for her. Open, close, open, close. She already knows which cabinet had the food supplies, she opens this more often. And there’s another cabinet that’s full of canisters and plastic containers which she’s very fond of - pulling them out like weeds in the fields. Arghhh extra work for me!
My only consolation is, she takes me along on her kitchen trips. At least I am aware what she’s doing there unlike if she just sneaks in there on her own.
and so does this song. It goes round and round in my mind. Dang! I was playing the toddlers’ music collection of little C and the song got stuck up there. Another case of LSS (last song syndrome) on a Friday night. Lalalala Am I glad the weekend’s here? Are you?
The little girl is with her granddad now so I can wash the dishes without any whinings in the background. =)
I’m not yet ready to part with my eyeglasses. I bought it only 4 months ago! So we tried to go to the optical near us and asked if they can fix it. We were advised to have it repaired in the store where I bought it as they usually have spare parts for their frames. That can’t be coz I bought mine from a far away island in the Southeast Asia. Ha! The pretty girl gave us another option; look for a small optical shop where they might be accepting repairs. Since it was Friday, small shops were closed for the weekend. I couldn’t bear living without my eyeglasses for another day coz my head was already aching from balancing the one-legged glasses I have.

So I let *Mr. Handyman fix it instead. And it’s fixed! Fixed as in repaired, good as new! And fixed as in the leg he attached can’t be folded, immovable! Hahaha. That’s because he glued it with super glue! =) its fine with me. I am happy that I can see clearly again and that my pair of specs is back to where it should be.
*Mr. Handyman is M, my hubby =)
