A friend is leaving for Canada few months from now, but before that she’ll be flying home to Philippines first. Last week, she hosted a farewell party for herself hehehe. - her treat for us! And just yesterday we had another party for her. Instead of going on a diet, getting into exercise or elliptical machines, we girls we’re on food tripping again!
It’s sad to note that the Praha girls are slowly decreasing in numbers. Last year one flew back to Philippines, and this coming April, another friend will be leaving for Paris.
Also currently on vacation in P.I are two girlfriends, with one also flying home this month. Weeee!!! There will be a long rest from parties with most of the girls gone, but when everyone is back (which will be Spring or Summer) from their vacation, expect us to be back to our favorite hobby too. You can guess, I don’t have to say it.
I’m so blessed to have friends here in Prague who care. With my current situation now, having a newborn and a toddler to tend for, it’s difficult for me to go out anymore and meet up with them. I’m glad I have friends who take time to visit me and keep me company in spite of all their busy schedules. They have work, lesson plans to make, resumes to update and send out, families to take care of, etc. but they still remember me. They even cook or bring food so I don’t have to do the kitchen work myself. They know that there are times I can’t barely even cook for myself especially when both kids are awake. And they babysit for little Caity too! Caity on the other hand is overly excited and happy to have people in the house other than mama who can’t anymore give her all the attention she needs.

Lilian, the volunteer cook for the day.
And Caity with her playmates, Jane and Floe:

So whenever my friends ask me if they can come to the house, my answer is a big YES. Even if it means giving up my afternoon nap.
It’s snowing a lot these days here in Prague. Not a nice time to go sightseeing for me especially with my baby bump, I just want to rest and stay at home. It would be nice to travel though to have a break from seeing the usual atmosphere here in the house. For those who plan to travel during spring or summer, it’s best to prepare some travel paraphernalia while waiting for the winter season to end.

December 20th, 2009hullo!
I’m still alive! heehehe and still very much pregnant! Though I sometimes wish the baby is out sooner than February. Counting the time will my delivery date drives me crazzzy! My tummy feels heavier and I feel more uncomfortable lately. I feel constant movements from the baby, back and leg pains, tiredness, moodiness… what else? It freaks me out sometimes when I touch my tummy and feel some sharp form almost poking out. What was that? the baby’s knee? leg? Weeeeeeee! Fortunately the upcoming Christmas holiday keeps my mind off from thinking about pregnancy and stuff once in awhile.
Another thing that’s going to keep me busy is the visit of my sister and her family. We’ve got only three days left till they arrive! We have to prepare for their accommodation and prep up the flat with Christmas decors to make it glisten like diamonds, or glass tiles.
I’m sure Caity girl will be happy to see her cousins from the North Pole again. She’ll have playmates to keep her occupied and entertained. And with M around for few days, I hope I can rest a bit and not worry about cleaning the house, washing dishes and cooking (uy sis can help too!
).
Aside from blogging, I have another productive online activity that is giving me pleasure. I’m currently addicted to auctioning/bidding in a local Czech auction site. I have posted before that I signed up with ebay but I actually haven’t made use of it. I find this online Czech auction site more convenient to sell as I am now based in the said country. Thanks to my friend Tess for introducing me to this… This has been my second week since joining and so far I still haven’t sold an item. The first batch of goods I auctioned didn’t catch any bidders at all. But this time, there are several bidders. I have one auction ending tomorrow, and I have some bidders already. Weee! I am excited how it turns out!
I also enjoyed browsing at the items (from clothes to modern furniture) being auctioned that I couldn’t help but bid too! As I said it can be addicting! I have already spent quite an amount, that I’m telling myself to stop! It’s ridiculous how other people can bid so high for used items. I told my friend that with the amount, they can already buy new stuff with it. But she said, it’s challenging to bid, and it makes them proud to actually win the battle. hehe I have to agree to that. I’m looking forward to a fruitful experience in my auction venture. =)
OMG! December is only a day away and I still didn’t go to the dentist as what my OB required me. I don’t actually need a complicated treatment like those Orange NJ dental implants; what I need is a simple check-up. Hopefully this week I’ll be able to accomplish that so I don’t have to worry about it later. With the Christmas holidays coming up and with some guests arriving for the holidays, the last thing I want is a conflicting schedule. And yes, gotta spare some time for gift shopping again. We have quite a long list for this year coz my sister and her family are celebrating Prague Christmas with us. Shopping for our baby H. will probably be done later when the Christmas’ hullabaloos are over so we don’t have to rush…
Yay! What a treat!

I got those from the Thai Store in Prague that sells Asian food. It’s sad to see that their stocks are limited and dwindling. My friends are wondering why this is so when they should be stocking up plenty coz their Filipino market is already growing bigger. Huhuhuhu… they always don’t have supply of instant pancit canton, spring roll wrappers, and other favorite chips we Pinoys love to eat. Big sigh! But still I was fortunate that they have the glutinous rice this time coz I’ve been wanting to cook and eat Arroz ala Valenciana. And they also have Jasmine rice. But they only two packs of 4.5 kilos. All this food binging can be blamed on my pregnancy. hehe Being pregnant is all about taking care of the baby and myself, and food is a major part of it. I’ll get back to worrying about losing weight, fat burners, and dieting once the baby is out. For now, let me enjoy eating!
Zzzzzzz… two things pregnancy is doing to me: sleepy and hungry!
This usually happens: I just woke up from a night’s sleep feeling sleepy. Uhuh! Did I ever sleep at all? Right now I want to go back in bed and doze off. If only Dora will step out from the screen and keep Caity company, then I can get an interrupted rest!
————-
I ate two KFC chicken wings and more than a cup of rice for breakfast. 30 minutes after I was eating piaya, a little later, I was eating canned mandarins… then a slice of puto cheese. Guess what? I am hungry na sad! Good thing it’s almost 12 noon, time for lunch and then our afternoon NAP follows! Yehey!
My tummy at 27 weeks, with Caity peeping from my side. Cute!

Okay, it’s time to turn off our desktop computers and give them a rest while we eat!
My advice: If you’re not going to use your computer for more than 2 hours, better turn it off to save energy.
My little Caity loves eating apple, in fact she loves to eat most fruits. We’re happy with that because I know many parents are having problems with their kids being picky eaters. Apples actually have health-rich properties that we can benefit from. Lately she’s has become a little rabbit, munching on carrots too.

There’s a simple and quick healthy recipe I learned from my mother-in-law combining both apples and carrots that’s really delicious. Caity first tasted it (and liked it) when she was still a year old and since then I haven’t been able to make this salad again.
So this morning after she finished eating an apple, I made this health-rich treat for her. Here’s how to make it:
Combine 1 piece of grated apple and 1 piece of grated carrot in a bowl. Squeeze a little lemon over it, add half a teaspoon of sugar and that’s it. It’s best eaten when chilled. I used apple and carrot straight from the ref, so after mixing all the ingredients, it was ready for eating. Read the rest of this entry »
This is little Caity, my active toddler:

With my baby bump getting bigger, I’m having a hard time catching up with her alertness. This little girl is fond of dancing and she likes everybody to dance with her. She’d pull us to join her when there’s an upbeat music playing. Poor mama is usually lazy to stand up and dance. hehehe…
Like yesterday when we were at her grandma’s place, M played a kiddie music video on the TV which she happily sang and danced along. She was calling to me to dance with her but I didn’t move at all. She pulled her baba (grandma) instead. =) Fortunately her baba was a willing dance partner. Too bad my digicam died while I was recording them! waaaa!
Whew! When baby H. is out, I’ll have two active kids to handle. I’ll just look at the bright side and think of it as a good fat burner- playing with them and running after them! Such fun! hahaha
