March 5th, 2010budget-conscious

With the soaring prices these days, everyone looks for bargains when they shop, especially the housewife who is budget-conscious. I wonder however for those who have money to burn, they are of course exceptions, so I refer to the majority; let’s face it, they are more in numbers than the so called “born with a silver spoon”. That’s why when one sees anything on sale, even a cheap auto insurance, it could be an attraction!

July 6th, 2009$1 million as gift

If you have lots of money, what would you do with it? Let’s say you’ve already own all the material possessions you’ve ever wanted like houses, cars, businesses etc., and yet your pocket (and your bank) is still full of money, how will you spend it? There are several rich people who don’t even own grand houses or drive sleek and expensive cars and live modestly but they still manage to share their treasures with different charities and the less-fortunate people.

For Buffalo and Rochester personal injury lawyers Ross M. Cellino Jr. and Stephen E. Barnes, they donated $1 million to their alma mater, the University of Buffalo (College of Law). According to the dean of the Law School, Makau Mutua, its one of the largest cash gifts the department has ever received in its 122-year history. Read the rest of this entry »

Whenever I do my rounds of EC dropping, I can’t help but notice how the blogosphere is filled with SAHMs and WAHMs. The internet has made possible for everybody including moms to earn money even when they’re at home taking care of kids; I’m one of those blessed few who have found a way to make money through the internet. But I have only attempted few of those money making schemes with much luck. I know there are still numerous means waiting for me to explore which would give me passive income yet the lack of time (or maybe interest ) has hindered me from getting into it.

August 15th, 2008can personal loans help you?

It’s payday for most employees today and hey! it’s Friday too! What does it mean? Time to splurge? It used to be happy times for my friend back when she was still single. With no big financial responsibilities to think about, her salaries usually are spent all on herself. But everything changed when she had a family of her own, especially that she’s got plenty of kids!

She usually complains that her husband’s salary isn’t enough to pay for all their expenses and financial obligations; they have to oftentimes avail of Payday Advances. Well it’s tough for them coz they only rely on her husband’s salary. Personal Loans help them get by during those hard times but it’s a temporary fix that’s why she’s thinking of working again to augment their income. Well, who isn’t having money problems these days anyway? It’s either you’ve got too much or too little. If your problem is the former, don’t forget to share some of your extra moolah with me! :)

It’s disheartening to hear news about how people from every corner of the world are having a hard time living life because of low paying jobs, high cost of goods and services or for some, not having any job at all. In Asia, UK and even in US, many employees are losing their jobs and their homes. In these times of crisis, how do low-wage earners get by or those with no work?

It has become a common practice for such people to borrow money. They’d avail of payday advances so they can pay their bills, pay their mortgages, buy food or send their children to school. Read the rest of this entry »

Car loans are handy for persons or families who badly needs a car but don’t have enough money. Having a car can be a luxury for others but for others, it’s a necessity. It takes you to and from work, it brings your kids to school, it allows you to travel to different places, and in case of emergency, having your own vehicle can be very convenient. But I wonder if people are still lured to buy cars when the fuel prices are increasing and increasing.

A family friend one time came to the house and told my mom of her problem. Her husband who is a chief mate of an international merchant ship would be delayed in going back to work. He was on vacation but he got sick. This has affected their finances to a point that they are now selling some of their properties.

I wonder if mortgage could be a better alternative than selling properties. It could be good maybe if they ask help from experts about these things who could advise them on financial matters. Reading the articles in Simply Finance might help them as it provides informational guides to consumers seeking financial knowledge. They also have information and news on various financial products which includes loans, mortgages and insurance.

Now that we are back here in Prague (my parents with me), we don’t have any news how they’re coping with their problem. We can only pray that the husband is now well, and that they are now out of their fix.

June 11th, 2008on student credit cards

Life these modern times are certainly made easier. Together with the development of high technology, banking, business and finance are not left behind. They have come up with varied and brilliant ideas and one of these is the credit card; and now the student credit card.

Credit cards could be a problem or a benefit, depending on the character and attitude of the person. I know of one whose life was very much affected due to mismanagement of his credit card. Their housing amortization was not anymore paid on time such that this piled up, and even other family necessities were tuned down. All because of the credit card; or I should say, the mishandling of the credit card. No wonder many shun even the thought of credit cards.

Students, before they are exposed to the intricacies of credit cards should learn the basics of good spending habits to avoid the dangerous possibilities. Budgeting is an excellent tool however this needs planning, proper management and discipline. The budget should be realistic and within available finances, and this may mean a subdued lifestyle. StudentCreditCards.com is one site where students can learn about all these and many more.

May 28th, 2008investment matters

My siblings and I have been exchanging views on investments and what would be the best, especially for young couples such as we are. We have talked on several ways like the buy and sell of used cars, real estate, and mutual bonds, among others.

One gave the idea of foreign exchange, and that this is a highly profitable business, but that we have to research on this, as this is new to us. We only have a vague idea that this is Currency Trading, which deals with the buying and selling currencies, or wherein foreign currencies are traded for the domestic currency. Where would the profit be here? Hmmm we better study before jumping into conclusions, more so before taking any action on the matter of investment.

April 3rd, 2008business loan in a jiffy

Argh! Why do most kababayans assume that people coming home from other countries have lots of money? Well, some might really have lots but it’s usually allotted for something else and not for the nuisance leeches that are all ready to suck out all the moolah.

Why don’t they make a living of their own, stretch their bones so they can earn money or apply for a Business Loan and start their own business instead of relying on other people’s hard-earned money? Read the rest of this entry »
