I found out sometime ago that the kids love eating pasta. Yesterday, I made a spaghetti sauce, and used pasta farfalle to go with it. Caity loves the tie shape; we called it ribbon. She and Adie ate plenty. The next day I still have left over of the sauce so I cooked penne pasta and the kids devoured it all. Weeee! There are still many kinds of pasta with interesting shapes which I’m sure my kids would be thrilled to eat. Must try those too!
Having a growing family to feed, I have to think of ways to serve various kinds of food that’s not only tasty but also healthy. I am glad that my Caity eats fruits and vegetables without any problem. Little Adie is following suit, which makes feeding these kids easy. Generally, I can say that they are doing well when it comes to food. They can adapt easily, having been raised in two cultures. Caity likes eating dried fish which is very Pinoy, and she also likes eating pickled cucumber, chleba and other Czech food.
I do hope that their love for eating won’t cause problems in the future like being over weight. hehe It’s hard to imagine them taking hoodia diet pills just to curb their appetite though.

I call this the carrot-eating contest. Notice how they hold the carrot the same way? Siblings!
We’ve been planning to enroll Caity in swimming lessons but we don’t know if we can find one during these rainy season. Usually, swimming clinics are available on summer coz its also the school break for the students. But through my mom’s initiative, she traced the instructor of the famous resort which offers summer swimming lessons for children.
Three times a week, Caity has lessons in the instructor’s residence. During weekdays, she has one-on-one lessons and every Saturday, she joins the other kids. So far, Caity is doing ok. She’s not afraid to go into the water anymore unlike her first encounter with the swimming pool in Pacific Shores where it took her a long time to take a dip. Mom highly commends her teacher coz she knows how to handle Caity.

The first day! Learning the basics with her teacher…

Swimming is good for the heart and also for the figure, works well like weight loss diet pill!
My parents accompany the little girl to every lesson. Its their bonding time together. Dad documents her improvements through pictures and videos, and mom is her babysitter. hehehe At least when Caity goes swimming, she’ll remember Papa Ed and Ma ‘My.
Parties can’t be complete without lots of food!
We recently had a sumptuous double birthday celebration for my friend A’s little boy, M and another friend F and food was overflowing. Here’s the proof:

So you think we need to buy phentermine or some diet pills after feasting on all this yummy stuff in front of us? Note that some prepared dishes were still in the kitchen and the ref, so that’s not all you see on the table. Thanks to friend A for inviting us to the party for filling our tummies with all that delicious food. We even brought home more food. It was a fun-filled party indeed!
What does a little girl usually do after being tired from playing for hours? Here’s my little girl’s answer to that!

Look at her sleeping so soundly in her car seat! Well… we all do need lots of rest, don’t we? We need to recharge oftentimes, so rest is not just for little active girls but for busy mommies as well, considering that too much stress and sleeping late can cause your face to look like it needs acne treatment, right? And since it’s another great weekend, I hope I can have lots of time for some much needed rest.
“Are you sleeping, are you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing, doorbells are ringing
Ding dang dong, ding dang dong. ”
Did you notice something different with the lyrics? Well, I did it on purpose!
What’s with this song anyway? Well, it’s Caity’s new-found favorite song lately. She doesn’t get tired of listening to it over and over. I found a site with lots of kiddie songs and this one was her top choice along with “The Ants Go Marching”. She looks funny when she sings along with the song coz her mouth twitches and she makes different funny faces. =) We made sure we’ve got it recorded for her fans to see. hehe

Ohhhh…. does she know how to read? Just as I am typing this, she asks for this song! She went “Mama, are you sleeping. Are you sleeping…” Weeeee!
Today our little baby boy, Adrian Martin turned 3 weeks old.
I gave birth to him through Ceasarian operation in the morning of January 24, 2010, a week earlier than expected. He weighed 3.5 kilos; 50 cm. in length. His first few days were critical but he was able to get over it and thank God, he got better. He was released a week after…
Our family of three has now become a family of four. Weeee! Life might not be easy for M and I, especially for me who’s left alone at home most of the day to take care of the kids and do the house chores, but it sure makes me happy to have another addition to the family.

Caity, the big sister with her little bro.
I’ve been so busy lately (juggling house chores and breastfeeding every 2-3 hours), there’s sometimes not even enough time to rest. I hope all these hard work will reduce belly fat or bulge. They said breastfeeding helps a lot in doing that.
Caity really had fun with her cousins during their Christmas vacation here.

Here’s Caity playing with her cousins Az and Rj at the slide.
Their play area is actually our living room which is safe for kids’ activities. The slide is made of plastic, the floor is carpeted and you can see fluffy and safe toys here.

I usually communicate with my family back home via Yahoo! Messenger and even if they’re continents away, it’s just like they’re in the next room! With the webcam on, they’d be treated to Caity’s antics while she’s watching a kiddie show, playing on the sofa or running around the room. Recently, they saw how Caity asked for pizza. Yep, they heard her say, “Pizza!” And she kept bugging me to check out the oven if it’s already cooked yet. Read the rest of this entry »
Do you know that leaving an unlocked phone lying around for a toddler to play with is not advisable? She might press the speed dial button of your phone and waste your load for unnecessary calls (this happened to hubby’s friend) and maybe even anger somebody like your boss (yay!).

When Caity was a year old, she accidentally click “send message” many times. The poor recipient was her ninang, who was surprised to receive a deluge of empty messages. When she called my number, the silence that answered her confirmed her suspicion that it was Caity playing with my phone. I was fortunate it was only my friend whom Caity pestered, what if it was somebody else? It would be double jeopardy on my part! That’s why you should keep your mobile phone locked at all times! Or better yet, keep it out of your child’s reach. She might even destroy it!
This is little Caity, my active toddler:

With my baby bump getting bigger, I’m having a hard time catching up with her alertness. This little girl is fond of dancing and she likes everybody to dance with her. She’d pull us to join her when there’s an upbeat music playing. Poor mama is usually lazy to stand up and dance. hehehe…
Like yesterday when we were at her grandma’s place, M played a kiddie music video on the TV which she happily sang and danced along. She was calling to me to dance with her but I didn’t move at all. She pulled her baba (grandma) instead. =) Fortunately her baba was a willing dance partner. Too bad my digicam died while I was recording them! waaaa!
Whew! When baby H. is out, I’ll have two active kids to handle. I’ll just look at the bright side and think of it as a good fat burner- playing with them and running after them! Such fun! hahaha
