The house is quiet except for the sound of the birds chirping and a dog barking outside. Usually, its my children’s noise that’s filling the house with their excited chatter, or sometimes cries. But the kids are out, visiting their grandma (Bába) today. I am happy for Caity. She finally got her wish. She has been asking to see her for a long time already. “Let’s go to Bába, let’s go to Bába, Ori (her grandma’s pet dog)…” She’d say that almost everyday like a broken record. I ran out of excuses why she can’t go there. Whenever we drive along the highway, she’d point to the intersection which leads to her grandma’s place. Her memory is amazing, it works like computers’ memory cards.
Last night, she was very excited. She kept rambling about going to Bába, playing with Ori, etc. I know she’ll have a good time there. The weather is fine – warm and sunny. I’m sure my mother-in-law brought the kids out in the playground. When my little girl comes home later, all I’ll hear about are stories of Bába and Ori. (:
Caity’s been interested lately with taking pictures. Every time she sees me holding the camera, she’d excitedly shout, “Me, me, me!” and asks me to give her the cam. She likes taking pictures – be it people or things. She even sometimes take pictures of the kiddie videos she’s watching on the TV or computer. hehe I tried to find it but I guess I deleted them all already. She’s not a pro (yet) but the more she does it, I know she will get to learn more too and hopefully get some proper results. It’s amusing how her shots come out though. (:

ABCD…

Against the light but not that bad eh?

This was supposed to be Adie and me. Hahahaha

Lovely pic expect for M’s missing forehead. (:
Today, I decided to dress up the kids and have a photo session. I didn’t know it would turn out to be a big challenge. Hah! I was their stylist, director and photographer, rolled into one. Well, believe me it was impossible to get a decent shot of the two coz I can’t really let them stay the way I want them to, even for a second. The moment I turned my back to take my spot, the kids have already moved! Grrrrr… After many futile attempts of “directing” them, I gave up. I just clicked and clicked, hoping I’d luckily get some nice shots.
Caity was sporting her new Peppa Pig sneakers (one of the fruits of my online shopping) which I’m crushing on. teehee If I was a kid, I would’ve love wearing that shoes. Adie on the other hand has already outgrown his cute Nike shoes, and got an H&M sneakers as replacement.
Anyway, pictures overload to follow! (click on it for a bigger view)

Adie was taking off Caity’s ribbon clip several times and his big sis didn’t seem to mind. In fact, she enjoyed it. It was me who complained a lot! Bleeh!

Separately, the pictures aren’t nice but if put together, it looked much better.
By the way, I will be posting Caity’s solo pictures in her blog. (: So if you know the URL, do drop by!
Have a nice weekend everybody!
My mom has been asking me to post more often in Caity’s site. The last post there was December 2010. Teehee And what’s the date today? Anyway, I told her I am always busy handling two kids, the house and can’t barely even find time for my work online. Buhohohooooo. M as ever is loaded with work and sometimes have to work from home.
If only there is an emergency assistance I can call on when I need to take a break from mama matters and concentrate on the blog.
Anyway, in lieu of Happy Caity posts, I’ll just fill this space with some cute pictures of her grandkids for her viewing pleasure. This is for Ma ‘My!

Fave hang-out place! inside the closet …. (:

Adie’s ride…

“Good morning Caity!” just woke up, camping with the dogs in the sofa while eating her toast for breakfast.

Pa-cute. (:

One more! (:

Caity is such a sweet little girl. There are so many instances already that she surprised me with this endearing trait which I wanted for a long time to write it down (coz I’m afraid I might forget these happened when my memory fails), but didn’t have the time to do so. Anyway… here it goes.
One time when I was applying petroleum jelly on my skin allergy. Caity was beside me spying curiously what I was doing. I feigned to be in pain and she was quick to comfort me. She patted my shoulder and in a sympathetic voice said “It’s okay mama, Caity’s here.“. Then kissed me in the cheeks.

Another time was when my slippers were already falling apart. Caity was there when I showed it to M. M promised to get me a new pair when he goes shopping for groceries. He and Caity went out one night to buy food stuff. When they came back I was in the bathroom, brushing my teeth. The little girl was squealing excitedly. “Mama! Mama! Look!” And she happily and proudly put down on the floor a new pair of slippers for me. M told me later that it was her who saw the slippers in the store and she exclaimed to her dad to get the slippers for me. She even chose the color blue, which happens to be my fave one.

Everyday, day or night; day and night, I tell her “I love you Caity.” . And she tells me back “I love you mama.”

This one happened today. I have just finished the busy morning routine of changing the baby’s diaper, feeding the kids breakfast, washing dishes, bathing/washing the kids, etc. etc. and have just put Adie to sleep. Okay, I thought I’ll sneak in a few minutes to finish one task for my online work. As soon as I started typing, Caity came up and was begging me to play with her. I told her that she has to wait coz mama is still working. She said “Ok”, then rested her head on my shoulders and said in a sweet voice, “I miss you, mama.” Yay! hahaha Hayyyyy! Actually, this is not the first time she has done this.
These are just some incidents that really stood out. All I can say is, this kid surely knows how to make my heart melt.
I found out sometime ago that the kids love eating pasta. Yesterday, I made a spaghetti sauce, and used pasta farfalle to go with it. Caity loves the tie shape; we called it ribbon. She and Adie ate plenty. The next day I still have left over of the sauce so I cooked penne pasta and the kids devoured it all. Weeee! There are still many kinds of pasta with interesting shapes which I’m sure my kids would be thrilled to eat. Must try those too!
Having a growing family to feed, I have to think of ways to serve various kinds of food that’s not only tasty but also healthy. I am glad that my Caity eats fruits and vegetables without any problem. Little Adie is following suit, which makes feeding these kids easy. Generally, I can say that they are doing well when it comes to food. They can adapt easily, having been raised in two cultures. Caity likes eating dried fish which is very Pinoy, and she also likes eating pickled cucumber, chleba and other Czech food.
I do hope that their love for eating won’t cause problems in the future like being over weight. hehe It’s hard to imagine them taking hoodia diet pills just to curb their appetite though.

I call this the carrot-eating contest. Notice how they hold the carrot the same way? Siblings!

A friend who recently saw Caity’s picture commented that I already have a little lady. Well, in my eyes, she’s still a child, because she really is! She’s only three years old! I don’t want to rush her into growing up.
Childhood will take years but years do fly very fast! There will come a time in the future that she won’t be needing me anymore. She’d prefer to hang out with her friends than me; she’d rather spend her weekends with her boyfriend. Yay! It is possible. Soon she will be choosing her own clothes (she’s even starting to do that), she’d be worrying which to wear over a bunch of prom dresses and other girly matters. Uh, the thought already makes me sad. That’s why I am savoring each moment I am with her now – now when she still yearns for mama.
I’ve noticed that Caity is fond of creating or building things. She likes playing with toys that can form into robots, animals, etc. She is also fond of her fake lego; building towers, castles or anything that she wants and imagines.
Last week, I bought her (another) clay for her to get busy with. It sure did keep her occupied while we had dinner with my cousin and uncle. It wasn’t only the little girl that enjoyed the clay, even my cousin and I had fun playing with the clay after we finished our food.

Caity making her “strawberry chocolate”.. whatever that is.

Caity’s creation at the left, and my pizza.

My cousin Aimee’s pretty rose.
It’s hard to say what Caity will become in the future, but exposing her to many fields of interest will give her plenty of options. She might be interested with music or art or science or health care careers, its only time that can tell.
We’ve been planning to enroll Caity in swimming lessons but we don’t know if we can find one during these rainy season. Usually, swimming clinics are available on summer coz its also the school break for the students. But through my mom’s initiative, she traced the instructor of the famous resort which offers summer swimming lessons for children.
Three times a week, Caity has lessons in the instructor’s residence. During weekdays, she has one-on-one lessons and every Saturday, she joins the other kids. So far, Caity is doing ok. She’s not afraid to go into the water anymore unlike her first encounter with the swimming pool in Pacific Shores where it took her a long time to take a dip. Mom highly commends her teacher coz she knows how to handle Caity.

The first day! Learning the basics with her teacher…

Swimming is good for the heart and also for the figure, works well like weight loss diet pill!
My parents accompany the little girl to every lesson. Its their bonding time together. Dad documents her improvements through pictures and videos, and mom is her babysitter. hehehe At least when Caity goes swimming, she’ll remember Papa Ed and Ma ‘My.
For two days already my dad hasn’t been feeling well. He was complaining that his head was aching; the next day, it was his hips. I was wondering what caused this. He has been taking health supplements and following a healthy diet so my guess is that he probably lack sleep or got tired from from playing with the kids. eheheh He’s my little girl’s favorite. She’s always looking for her Papa Ed when he’s out of her sight. But with my mom and sister back at home, Caity will probably turn her attention to them.

Dad with his little helper…
Its important for a person to be healthy especially for elderly like my dad. But taking daily health supplements can be expensive. That’s why its advisable to buy discount vitamins using vitacost coupons to save a great deal of money. One can save up to over 70% off from vitamins, minerals and other important health supplements. That’s being a wise shopper. And taking care of our health is another wise move.
For now, dad has been resting, trying to regain his energy.
