Last week, our friend L harvested more vegetables and fruits from her garden. She dumped the baskets of bounties in another friend’s house, so we went there on Tuesday. It was a double purpose meeting; a picnic/playdate for moms and kids and a chance for us to claim our share of goodies.
I went home with a huge slice of squash, a bunch of alogbate, some peaches and cherry tomatoes. The peaches were sweet, no wonder Adie liked it. He ate 3 pieces in a day, the next day he pooped thrice at intervals of 10-20 minutes. Yay!

Adie looks bigger than Caity here coz when he saw me, he got up and ran to me.
He woke up yesterday with a single line scar in the middle of his nose. Such precision, Adie! I think he scratched himself with his nails. Cut them off already.
I usually close the door to our bedroom when Adie is awake coz there are many things that he can tinker and damage there. But Caity sometimes go in there, takes something and forgets to close it. I guess that’s how Adie sneaked inside.
I caught him in the middle of our bed playing with his new discovery, an unsharpened pencil. He had an absorbed look on his face, until it snapped! and broke into two. Bye-bye pencil. It was his dad’s when he was a teen.

Yesterday we had a nice time by the lake with the kids and a friend. We came home late in the afternoon, with Adie already whinny coz it was past his nap time. When we got home, I fed, washed and put him to bed. He’ll have another round of feeding when he wakes up later at night. That’s what I thought, which didn’t happen. He slept soundly until the morning! I went to pee around 5am, it was already bright outside and I was surprised that Adie was still asleep. Since the daylight started early this Spring, he lately usually wakes up about this time. I was worried, so I tiptoed inside his room and was relieved that he was still breathing. Whew! 12 hours of sleep without in-between feeding. Yay! He must be hungry, I woke him up. teehee! I noticed he was a bit warm. After feeding, I placed him back in his crib and he slept until 8. Poor Adie woke up with a fever. ): The effects of the vaccination is on him!
Earlier in the afternoon, I snuggled with him in our bed and he didn’t budge. He’d usually squirm, move around and play in the bed, but this time he just laid there, trying to sleep while I caress him. Too cute! I can hear his heavy breathing and feel his soft chubby cheeks against mine. I relished the moment coz I don’t usually get to sleep with him as he is used to sleeping on his own in his crib.
I hope Adie will get well soon. As much as I enjoyed cuddling a cooperative baby, I don’t like my kid to suffer from discomfort. Besides, I can’t do much with him being extra clingy and whinny when he’s sick. I might just acne from stress and worry about acne treatment. So please Lord, let my little Adie’s fever go away. We want to enjoy our weekend together as a family, with both kids in tiptop health!
18th of May, Adie had a 3 in 1 vaccination for measles, rubella and mumps. When Caity woke up that morning and saw Adie already dressed for the doctor’s appointment, she complained and cried. “My Adieee! Waaaaa!” She didn’t want him to go. We had to explain and assure her that Adie will come back and it was all okay with her.
When M and Adie came back from the vaccination, Caity was very happy to see her little brother again. “Mama! Adie’s back!!!“. She squealed in delight. But when she saw the bandage on his tiny arm, she was concerned and sad. “Adie has booboo, Mama.” Awww such a sweet little girl. She might oftentimes fight with Adie when they’re playing but deep inside Caity is a loving and protective sister to her baby brother. She kept kissing the booboo and telling him that it’s okay. “My Adie, my Adie…“.
We were told the effects of the vaccination would happen a week later but for some reason, Adie developed runny and clogged nose after their return. He was having a hard time sleeping coz he can not breathe properly. I took out his car seat/rocker and placed him there. The inclined sitting position is supposed to make it easier for him to breathe but he still cried and cried. Caity was quick to go to his side and rocked him to sleep and she even tried to make him smile.

At 14 months, Adie still can’t talk. But he’s developed a way how to relay to me/us what he wants – by pulling and leading me/us to the place or thing. It’s so cute. He’ll come to me, take my hands and start pulling. If I don’t budge, I have to prepare for his whine and a stronger pull! Better give in, Mama!
This morning, he grabbed his milk bottle, gave it to me and patted the sofa. Can you figure out what he wanted me to do? Yeah! He was telling me to sit down and feed him!

Today, I decided to dress up the kids and have a photo session. I didn’t know it would turn out to be a big challenge. Hah! I was their stylist, director and photographer, rolled into one. Well, believe me it was impossible to get a decent shot of the two coz I can’t really let them stay the way I want them to, even for a second. The moment I turned my back to take my spot, the kids have already moved! Grrrrr… After many futile attempts of “directing” them, I gave up. I just clicked and clicked, hoping I’d luckily get some nice shots.
Caity was sporting her new Peppa Pig sneakers (one of the fruits of my online shopping) which I’m crushing on. teehee If I was a kid, I would’ve love wearing that shoes. Adie on the other hand has already outgrown his cute Nike shoes, and got an H&M sneakers as replacement.

Adie was taking off Caity’s ribbon clip several times and his big sis didn’t seem to mind. In fact, she enjoyed it. It was me who complained a lot! Bleeh!
Separately, the pictures aren’t nice but if put together, it looked much better.

My mom has been asking me to post more often in Caity’s site. The last post there was December 2010. Teehee And what’s the date today? Anyway, I told her I am always busy handling two kids, the house and can’t barely even find time for my work online. Buhohohooooo. M as ever is loaded with work and sometimes have to work from home. 
If only there is an emergency assistance I can call on when I need to take a break from mama matters and concentrate on the blog.

It was Adie’s first birthday yesterday. It was snowing all day, but that didn’t stop friends from coming over to celebrate with us.
It was a fun night with the girlfriends yet crazy as well coz the kids (though they were only three), caused a lot of riot. They opened Adie’s gift, they were fighting over the toys, and they were even crying coz they also wanted to blow the birthday candle. But the birthday boy was cool over it and didn’t mind the competition at all.
Adie got lots of clothes, and few toys, thanks to her beautiful titas. At his age, he still doesn’t know what he wants. When he’s big, he might request for a bike, iphone, rustic furniture or scooter.
Big sis Caity was too quick to open the gift before Adie can even get to it. Hahaha

This morning when I looked at the pictures from our camera, and that from our friends’, I found out that Adie doesn’t even have a decent picture of his special day. So I put on his birthday clothes and set him up in front of his birthday banner and took lots of pics. With just me and him, the pictorial went well. That’s the first pic posted above.

I found out sometime ago that the kids love eating pasta. Yesterday, I made a spaghetti sauce, and used pasta farfalle to go with it. Caity loves the tie shape; we called it ribbon. She and Adie ate plenty. The next day I still have left over of the sauce so I cooked penne pasta and the kids devoured it all. Weeee! There are still many kinds of pasta with interesting shapes which I’m sure my kids would be thrilled to eat. Must try those too!
Having a growing family to feed, I have to think of ways to serve various kinds of food that’s not only tasty but also healthy. I am glad that my Caity eats fruits and vegetables without any problem. Little Adie is following suit, which makes feeding these kids easy. Generally, I can say that they are doing well when it comes to food. They can adapt easily, having been raised in two cultures. Caity likes eating dried fish which is very Pinoy, and she also likes eating pickled cucumber, chleba and other Czech food.
I do hope that their love for eating won’t cause problems in the future like being over weight. hehe It’s hard to imagine them taking hoodia diet pills just to curb their appetite though.
I call this the carrot-eating contest. Notice how they hold the carrot the same way? Siblings!
This little boy will turn 1 next week already! My baby is going to be a toddler!
He’s a fast walker, almost running. Even if I put him at the end of the room, he still catches up with me. Whew! It’s funny when I move around the house, he follows me like a shadow. Sometimes when I open the door to a room, he goes inside before I do! One time M went to the hallway to get something then came back in and closed the door. He didn’t notice that little Adie went there too. So the little boy was left behind in the hallway. hehehe
a little trivia:
When Adie was 6 months old, he has the same weight as when Caity was 12 months.
Adie’s 10 months weight = Caity’s 18 months weight.
He’s really big compared to Caity. I don’t know where to took that from. I am small and not fat (ehehehe), even if I keep mentioning about best diet pills. Maybe he got it from M’s side. The guys from their side are tall. One friend calls Adie a giant baby. hehehe Someday, he will be towering over me na! Yikes!
