August 17th, 2012Here comes the sun

This summer, our family’s theme song is The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun“, which speaks a lot of the emotions we feel when the sun is around. M and I have been singing the song quite often, and the kids especially Caity came to like the catchy lyrics and the nostalgic tune. One night, we called her and let her listen to the music, and she was all smiles. She asked to listen to it many times before we sent her to bed.

I have a strong feeling that when the kids hear this song in the future, when they will be grown-ups, they’ll remember the happy summer days we’ve spent together; the long hours in the playground, long hike in the forest, bike rides, licking ice cream to cool off, camping out, petting ladybugs, hunting for mushrooms, eating lots of grilled foods, crafting, dancing to Mozart, chasing butterflies, picking wildflowers (shhhh) and fruits, driving home with the sunset in view, showing off its beautiful colors, all those wading and splashing in the lakes, being with friends, seeing new places…

Not to forget, meeting new friends and “having” a new place too!

What else can I say? But Summer rules! Now, come and sing along with me… “Here comes the sun, and I say, it’s all right.“
