Czechs usually go to their summer cottages, (chata in Czech) during weekends out from the maddening life in the city for a quiet break. Others stay there most of the time during summer season, which is probably what we’ll do if the weather permits. Yeah, summer doesn’t guarantee you sunny and dry days all the time.

Anyway, our family especially the kids are so happy to recently have a place where can go to (even if its not ours) and have a feel of living in a single-detached house with lawn and garden for kids to run about and explore anytime. Living in our 7th floor nest doesn’t give us that freedom. Sure there are lots of playground around, but when we’re out there, that would mean totally leaving all the possible house work I can do to be with them. Unlike in the cottage where they can freely play outdoors and I can still work while keeping an eye on them.

This cottage have extras that really stole the kids heart at first meeting; a playhouse filled with toys and the swing chair (their favorite hang-out).

There’s the swing chair and Adie in up the “tower” which looked like a tree house.  This boy is fond of singing, anytime, anywhere. We ought to have an apogee mic to record all that!

What more can you ask for?

We’re currently cleaning the place, in and out. Today, Dad K did the clearing of bushes and branches that were covering the entrance and the perimeter fence, while M cleaned the first floor. More work and repairs are needed to make the place functional, clean and tidy, but the kids are already having fun playing, climbing, swinging and gathering raspberries growing around while the adults are busy putting the whole place back to its former glory.
