June 24th, 2010adie is 5 months old!

He’s so cute! :) I sometimes have to clench my teeth when I find him irresistible. He’s already 5 months. He sleeps longer these days, during day and night which makes me happy. And he also spends more time being awake, interacting with us, looking around, playing, trying to crawl… When we put him down on his back, he flips on his tummy or side quickly. He also tries to move forward using his knees, an early sign of crawling. Pretty soon this little baby will be all over the place!

It’s funny how time really flies so fast. Last year about this time, I was still pregnant with him and suffering from all the first-trimester discomfort of headaches, dizziness, etc. I wasn’t taking prenate vitamins with dha then. Maybe it would have made my pregnancy easier if I did. But looking at my boy now, I can say that all hardships I experienced were worth it!

June 23rd, 2010eat your hearts out!

All pictures are taken in the Philippines, my beloved country.
Awesome!!!

I’ll be seeing you soon. :)

Thanks to Miss Jeanette Pactolin for allowing me to use her pictures. :)

My friend J messaged me the other day if I wanted to invest in a condo. She has a new sideline, she’s an agent for SM condos, and she’s in Paris! Would you believe it, SM real estate has an office in Paris. Weeeee! I’m sure they’ll be able to get many customers in the city of lights coz there are also many Filipinos there. Maybe one day, this friend will tell me “I will sell my timeshare to you.” :) Yeah, sales agent should really be agressive when they’re trying to sell or else they wouldn’t be able to make money at all.

Unfortunately, my friend is a little late in offering me this investment scheme. :) But I do hope she’ll be able to persuade our other friends coz she really needs an income.

So if you’re interested to buy a French style condo in Paranaque, message me. I will refer you to my friend. :)

June 16th, 2010ready to travel

Caity had her first international travel when she was 6 months old. This time, our baby A will be following her sister’s footsteps. Next week we’re scheduled to take a trip to the Philippines and incidentally, baby A will be 6 months by then. My family back home are already excited to see our little bundle of joy. I am sure they’ll love him much coz he’s such a good and cute baby. :)

I am also happy coz all of us, including M will be joining us.  In fact we’ve already planned some fun activities (most definitely in the beach!) that the whole family will enjoy.  My other siblings are also coming home, so it will be sort of a reunion.  :)   I am looking forward to it already!

We still have a lot of things to prepare, but with baby A’s passport in hand, we’re assured that he can take the trip already.  Yep, our little boy is ready to travel!

Parties can’t be complete without lots of food!

We recently had a sumptuous double birthday celebration for my friend A’s little boy, M and another friend F and food was overflowing. Here’s the proof:

So you think we need to buy phentermine or some diet pills after feasting on all this yummy stuff in front of us? Note that some prepared dishes were still in the kitchen and the ref, so that’s not all you see on the table. Thanks to friend A for inviting us to the party for filling our tummies with all that delicious food.  We even brought home more food. It was a fun-filled party indeed!

June 6th, 2010tired little girl

What does a little girl usually do after being tired from playing for hours? Here’s my little girl’s answer to that!

Look at her sleeping so soundly in her car seat! Well… we all do need lots of rest, don’t we? We need to recharge oftentimes, so rest is not just for little active girls but for busy mommies as well, considering that too much stress and sleeping late can cause your face to look like it needs acne treatment, right? And since it’s another great weekend, I hope I can have lots of time for some much needed rest.

June 6th, 2010getting rid of belly fat

Oftentimes, I’d like to picture myself the way I was before I got pregnant. When I was still carrying the baby and had not delivered yet, I’d like to think that after pregnancy, I’ll get over my big tummy and be back to my former slim frame. The reality however looms at present: I still need to reduce and look for practical ways to rid belly fat.

There are many options for those who plan to slim down and lose unwanted weight. For instance, I’ve read about a certain fat reducer which claims to rid belly fat. As I read more how this is done, I’ve found out that one way is inhibiting a stress hormone that causes feelings of hunger and encourages stress eating, even when you are not hungry. Another one helps build lean muscle, burn belly fat, block fat absorption, and suppress your appetite. Another method is through a preparation which burns fat, builds lean muscle, increases metabolism and suppresses appetite.

Those who are keen on taking fat burners should really research on which one is the best for their biological makeup and medical background.

Here’s the little guy responsible for my lack of sleep:

Baby A at 4 months old – chubby  and cute!!!

He looks very healthy, like he’s taking hgh supplements hehe. That’s how all the breast milk he’s drinking has done to him. Sometimes it’s unbelievable that he’d grown this much consuming only mama’s milk. :) Tomorrow he has a check-up with his doctor, so we’ll know how much weight he gained and how tall he is.

June 2nd, 2010who’s the zombie?

It’s been a rainy, cold week! Temperature today was at 13C brrrrr. It’s nice to curl in bed and hide under the soft duvet. I miss those days when I can just jump in bed anytime of the day, that was B.K. (before kids) era, when the weather is like this. I especially need sleep the past days coz baby A is keeping me awake at nights.

Last night, he woke me up every hour again with his cries. I think he’s in the stage wherein he needs more milk to match his fast growth. I am tempted to give him formula milk at night so he sleeps longer but some moms say that it’s not a guarantee that he won’t need frequent feeding. I also read somewhere that at night, breast milk is working wonders to babies. That’s why even when I am in this zombie-state, I’m still willing to sacrifice for the little one. I can apply an eye cream to hide the dark circles. Maybe a dab of refissa will work.  Nursing and sleep deprivation isn’t forever anyway.  A few more months and I can have a full night’s sleep!

I was rummaging my closet earlier and saw some of my maternity tops mixed with my pre-pregnancy clothes.  It reminded me of my dilemma when I was still pregnant. I had a hard time looking for maternity clothes and pants back then that will fit my small-sized frame in the local shops here. I had to buy online and spend a little more for the clothes and also for shipping. It was a series of hit and miss purchases, not knowing which sizing would perfectly fit me.

If stores offer XS sizes for regular clothing, they should also be mindful to sell XS sizes for maternity clothing too. I’m sure huge people are having the same problem as I do – where to find stores that sells big and tall clothing.

Manufacturers and store owners should be aware that aside from the regular sized people, there are also those that don’t belong to these category.  If not for the internet, I wouldn’t know where to buy maternity clothes for myself.
