May 10th, 2010finding a gold mine :)

We went to a spring bazaar last Saturday with my friend to sell some of our unwanted used things but ended up not selling a single thing! How did that happen? When we arrived to the venue, the affair has already started. We thought of spying first inside as we were feeling apprehensive to sell our stuff coz the other sellers have already set-up their wares. Our jaws dropped and eyes grew bigger when we saw the displays. There were children’s books still in good condition and were sold very cheap! It was so irresistibly tempting! It was like finding a gold mine. My friend and I were browsing at the books excitedly, picking which to buy and forgot the real reason why we went there. :P

Sale, sale, sale!

Manning the tables were small kids about 7-8 year old, with the supervision of their parents. It’s amazing to see these kids let go of their their toys, books and other personal stuff.  I don’t know if it was hard for them to give up their favorites.  But they seem to enjoy playing the role of salesgirls/boys; charging the customers, giving the change; even without cash drawers like mmf drawer, they still did a good job.

Anyway, we were very happy with our shopping finds. You can tell from the smile on our faces.

Me with friend T.

Who wouldn’t be happy when they sell books for only 20 or 10 crowns each which looked like they’ve never been read!  I’ll show some of the items I bought next time. :) I’m sure you’ll be envious. hehe

May 6th, 2010rainy spring

Eeky! The weather that is. It’s been raining this week and according to the forecast, it will either be rainy or cloudy till the next 15 days. :(

I have taken out our clothes dryer in the balcony since we’ve been getting sunny days but today I have decided to transfer it back inside. It’ll obviously take a long time for the clothes to get dry in the cold balcony.

Speaking about laundry and dryer, here’s a creative way on how to use a clothes dryer other than it’s main purpose… tadan! A kid’s art display using ikea jabba laundry dryer.

May 2nd, 2010birthdays galore

It’s that month of the year again when birthday celebrations are aplenty! I already received two invitations from friends and still expecting more to come. :) Not that I’m too excited about food, (deny pa!). It’s difficult to stick to my diet if there’s an abundance of food in front of me and seeing my friends enjoy their food, you know. Then there’s the gift issue too; what to give to the birthday celebrants. Should I give them a wad of term life insurance quotes (they’ll pay for the insurance of course :P ) or paper bills (which I don’t have), home-made food (this is the usual), or surprise them with something. What that something is, is a big question. hehehe

By the way, I am also celebrating my birthday this month.  Don’t forget to wrap a gift for me!  :)

May 2nd, 2010mmmmmm mc wrap!

Once in awhile, I reward myself with little pleasures such as junk food! I work hard, I believe I owe it to myself to get a treat too. But it’s nothing fancy and not even expensive. Not unless I indulge on it on a daily basis, then that’s a different story :) Anyway, the latest to score a high point in my list is the new McDonald’s Mc Wrap. I first tasted their Crispy Chicken Wrap which was similar to that of KFC but their sauce is yummy; there was a hint of Mediterranean flavor.

Crispy Chicken

After that first encounter, I was curious how the other Mc Wraps tasted. Once again, another Mc Wrap for me:

Classic Beef

It was more yummy than the crispy chicken, more juicy and mmmmmmm…. I want more!

The grilled chicken seems intriguing too, but I always eat chicken so I might skip the grilled chicken and go for beef next time!

Grilled Chicken

If you want to make me happy, just buy me a Mc Wrap.  It will make my day. :)
