October 28th, 2009many tests!

I have a lot of tests and check-ups to undergo required by my OB!

dental check-up
glucose test
special ultra-sound test
EKG test

The glucose test is crashed out from the list coz I already had it yesterday. I starved myself for almost 12 hours just for that starting from 12 mn. until after they took the last blood sample. When we got to the laboratory at 8 am, they took a blood sample then about 20 minutes later I was asked to drink a very sweet liquid. We then had to wait two hours till another blood sample was taken from me. Whew! Baby H. and I survived the long time without water and food! huhuhu.  I bet doing that everyday is better than any weight loss supplement?

Where was Caity while we were in the lab clinic?  She stayed at home with her baba who came early in the morning to our flat to take care of her while we’re away.  Leaving her at home was a good idea.  I just couldn’t imagine how she will behave in a small cramped waiting room full of adults for more than two hours.

Anyway, I still have three more tests to go! For the two, we already have an appointment set but for the dentist visit, we still have schedule it.

October 26th, 2009cleaning up the closet

Last Saturday I planned to sort out Caity’s clothes to make room for her winter clothes. Some clothes will be already too small or short for her next summer that’s why I want them stored away, or maybe send them home by long distance movers to give away to the less-fortunate there. Most of her clothes are still in good condition; such a waste.  Kids grow so fast that they only get to wear their clothes for few times.

A friend told me that she puts up her child’s used clothing, toys and shoes online for auction which is also a good idea of getting rid of kid’s old stuff.

These are just some of Caity’s clothes, the rest I still have to sort and others are still hanging in the closet.

Her shoes also has to go but her baby toys can still be inherited by baby H.

I only got to do the work yesterday coz last Saturday I stayed glued to my notebook for hours, shopping online! Heeeeeeeeee!

October 20th, 2009an answered prayer

Finally some good news to share about Baby H. but before that let me tell a little story.

When we informed family and friends about my pregnancy, they all wished we’ll have a boy this time (our first child is a girl). That’s our prayer too. A boy will be perfect addition to complete the family! I know one couple who had already 4 children (all girls) and still they want to add one more hoping the next one will be a boy.  Unfortunately, their wish wasn’t granted coz their next child was still a girl. Yay!

Every time I have my pre-natal check-up, we’d always be excited if Baby H. will finally reveal to us its gender. And each time, we’d go home disappointed. Everybody’s asking us time and again for the baby’s gender and they’d get the same negative answer.

Baby H. at 25 weeks. No signs of dark circles under eyes!

Some of my friends like to guess. When I told them that Baby H. is more active than when Caity was in my womb, they told me it’s probably a boy. At 5 months, my tummy is already huge. It looks this big when I was at the 7th month of my previous pregnancy which made my friends think that it’s a boy. And when I told them that I don’t have that dark line known as linea nigra running along my tummy unlike before, they all exclaimed, “it’s a boy!

The guessing game finally ended yesterday with good results.  Our prayers have been answered coz it’s a baby boy indeed!  Thank you Lord!

There you have it my friends, the answer to your questions. No more asking us, okay?

So we went to Stara Boleslav to attend the Holy Mass by the Pope on September 18. The celebration would start at 9:45am but pilgrims were advised to be there on or before 8am. We left home at 6am as we have to drop Caity at her grandma’s house and pick up a friend along the way to Cerny Most where the buses were deployed for the pilgrims’ use. There were so many buses lining up in the station, waiting to transport passengers for free!

We arrived early and had plenty of time to take pictures of the buzzing activities around.

Walking with the crowd.

More and more people arriving, while the police men are on alert mode.

The stage and the tall tv stands holding the wide screens for the crowd farther behind to see.

He’s coming!  We didn’t know he will pass in our aisle!

Pope Benedict XVI blessing the crowd.

The Mass was in Latin, and his sermon was in Italian with Czech translations, I didn’t understand it at all but the choir was superb.  Just being part of this celebration was already an experience to cherish.

After many unsuccessful clothing purchases, I almost gave up on online shopping. Most of them were too big for me, others just don’t fit me well. Sigh…if only international shipping isn’t expensive! Sadly, I didn’t have any other option but to give it one more try because I really can’t find any maternity jeans here in Prague that will fit me. Petite pregnant women who are in the US are fortunate coz they have many choices when it comes to small-sized maternity clothing.

Anyway, I got hold of my order from last month yesterday and I was very, very happy coz it fits me to a tee! I should have bought plenty but well, I didn’t want to take the risk since I wasn’t sure yet if it’s right for me. But now that I already know what’s the exact size that fits me from this store, I can always add more later.

After many tries and errors, I can say thanks to online shopping! From clothing to industrial supplies , electronics to baby stuff, and everything else, you can find whatever it is you’re looking for (as long as you know how to search).

One of the reasons why people go to the US is because of medical reasons. It is believed that they have the most sophisticated medical equipment and exceptionally-skilled medical team to cater to various cosmetic and medical treatments. Most often, it is only those who have plenty of money who can afford to avail of such services. The cost of transportation for the medical travel alone is already a big amount for the middle-class or the average employees can handle; the cost of medical care is another thing.

Can high quality and low cost health care go together? This is the aim of Health Travel Guides, to provide quality health care abroad for everyone at an affordable cost. Among the services they offer are cosmetic procedures (like professional teeth whitening, veneers, Botox Cosmetic®, laser hair removal), dental care and also critical care procedures such weight loss, herniated disk, hip replacement and even heart surgery.

If you’re curious how much your treatment will cost, you can always ask for a free quote online by visiting their website.
