I feel like a runner in a race that’s never going to end. It’s tiring. All I was looking forward to was reaching the finish line but unfortunately just when I’m only a mile away, somebody decided to add another hundred mile for me to run. =( So yes, the race isn’t over. I’m still running and hoping that whatever energy I have left is enough to see me through this race.
Cheer for me please!

Early to bed, early to rise,
makes me a sleepy Daisy early at night.
Whenever I put little C to sleep, I also fall asleep. Sometimes I even fall asleep before she does. If this goes on, how will I be able to finish my online tasks on time? I usually do them when she’s asleep so there’s no one to bother me. When she’s up, there’s little chance I can work peacefully coz she would often pull me from my working area and let me join her play or whatever it is she’s doing. How can I refuse my little girl? With time flying by quickly, there will come a day when she won’t be seeking my presence anymore. Thinking about it is already making me sad. =( I know I’ll miss these days; having a little kid following me around the house even when sometimes it drives me nuts.
Anyway, there’s one solution which I’m trying hard to follow and that is by escaping dreamland once the little girl has fallen into a deep slumber. Usually it works but more often I’d rather drift to sleep than wake up and not even the sound of moving trucks can rouse me from sleep. zzzzzzzzzz
Is there really lack of jobs? Then how come M has to work more than 8 hours a day, and even has to work on weekends? While others are complaining that they don’t have work or can’t find the right work for themselves, my husband has too much work in his hands. Division of labor seems to be unheard of in their company.
But for those who are affected by the downsizing of big companies, worry not. There are plenty of work! I stumbled on many Wall St jobs available at Financial Job Bank. 12,915 slots in all! If your line of skill is in finance or accounting, it’s a big opportunity you have to try.
When we learned that our landlady didn’t want to renew our contract, there wasn’t anything we could do then. M was out of the country on a business trip and me and little C were in the Philippines for a vacation. That was in the middle of January. When M got back from his trip two weeks after the notice, he searched the internet for any available Prague apartments. There were several apartments he found within the area we wanted, but there were some factors that we didn’t meet.
Most owners didn’t like tenants with kids, (this I suspect is the reason why our landlady is driving us away). Some kids can be destructive; they’d doodle on walls, chairs, etc. Parents would know what little children can do. But we’ve been good you know! We took care of her fishes (they’ve multiplied abundantly) and also her plants. Though a few died but the rest are growing pretty well. And our little C hasn’t destroyed any of her things or furniture.
Another thing is that there were some owners that didn’t accept foreign tenants. That would be me no doubt. I don’t know why. Racial discrimination? Hmmm… Plus the fact that we had our own factors to consider too such as the cost of rent, location, and the flat’s amenities made the search all the more difficult. And having only two weeks to do the search and transfer gave us a lot of pressure.
Anyway, we’ve managed to find an apartment to transfer to a day before our deadline ended, thanks to the expats.cz webpage. If you’re planning to move to Prague or just looking for a place to stay while in the city, the website can help you a great deal.
After a long deprivation from TV viewing, I was able to watch several TV shows while I was in the Philippines. Guess what? I enjoyed watching the commercials more because it was first time to see them unlike regular viewers who see these ads on a daily basis, almost every hour, over and over. Even little C has her own favorite commercials too. I like short and funny ads, those that keep my senses awake, just like those famous ad clips of Howie Mandel for buy.com in YouTube. In very short videos, he’s able to deliver the message of the commercial clearly; how fast and easy shopping with buy.com is. It’s what every customer wants in a service - fast and reliable. Click on Sale to see a sample of his commercial.

The colorful bandage in little C’s arm.
Little C had her vaccination today against measles, chicken pox and goiter. She cried a bit but immediately stopped when we distracted her with the toys on the nearby table. I think she cried and complained more over the coat she was wearing. It snowed in the morning, so I let her wear the thick (and big) coat which she feels uncomfortable with. Oh yeah, who would expect today to snow when yesterday we had a spring-like sunny day.

“I want to take this coat off!”
When little C and I went out the other day to tackle a very important business (of throwing our trash) heh, I was quite surprised to stumble upon an empty playground…

and empty streets…

It was a sunny day, so I expected people to be out enjoying an exceptionally beautiful day.
From the pics you’d think we’re the only people living in this place, but actually there are many, many high-rise residential buildings around the area. In fact, parking is one big problem because there are too many people with cars and very few spaces for parking. If ever you find a vacant parking spot at past 5 in the afternoon, then you’re very lucky. It’s like finding a good sale such as a mig welder for $299 or a Louis Vuitton bag for $500.
Do you hate numbers? Well, sorry mate we can’t escape them! They’re everywhere and are essential part of our lives. I myself got some numbers I check on a regular basis aside from the clock ;). These are some of those numbers:

Days go by so slow when you’re waiting for someone special huhuhu…

What’s the weather gonna be like today, for the whole week…? I have Accuweather to count on that. It helps me decide on what I should wear when going out and which would be a nice day to take little C out.

How much is the value of my dollars in pesos? That’s one thing I’m curious about. =)
If my notebook can talk, it would probably give me a good scolding coz it’s overworked! It actually went on a strike a few times. My husband said it’s because I’ve installed many programs on it which is why it’s working sluggishly. He’s right! It seems my system registry needs to be cleaned. If you’re using Microsoft for your OS, the registry is where almost anything related to the operating system itself and all installed software are being stored. Every time you install or remove some features and programs, this information is stored in the registry. It might seem like a good idea but it can create a little problem. Not all programs clean after themselves and the registry grows bigger and bigger as more and more programs are installed. It gets fragmented but it might also easily get corrupted. Since Microsoft does not offer any tools to keep the registry in good shape, users have to look elsewhere.
