October 13th, 2008sun-shiny and warm autumn day

It felt like summer yesterday.  It was a warm and sunny day which it made me forget for awhile the current season.  I wish everyday would be like that.  But as we pased this sad scene of trees shedding their leaves, it was a reminder that autumn is here to stay for the next two months or so heralding the coming of chilly winter.

Even this house in the corner is on a full autumn motif. Fiery red leaves are crawling all over it and eating it up!

Little C enjoying what could be the last weekend of outdoor fun under the sun.

October 13th, 2008preference for black

What’s with teens and black? Have you noticed how teens especially guys love to wear black shirts? Does it have to do with machoism mindset? So I asked one and I was quite surprised with his answer. He likes wearing black shirts coz they camouflage the dirt. Haha That was one very reasonable guy!

Anyway, I bet most teens would love to shop for shirts and hoodies at MMA Clothing. Their designs would fit the macho image they want to have; skulls, chains, helmets… hmmm sounds warrior-like, right? As for the Zena-inspired gals, the designs come in feminine colors of red, pink and white so they don’t feel too barbaric and scare guys away! LOL!

October 10th, 2008counting the days

Five more days and I will see him again. =) Days are flying by so fast! Thank God I have little C keeping me company, such busy and wacky days with her but I’m glad that she makes the waiting bearable for me. Thanks also to my parents-in-law who have been alternately helping me watch over and entertain the little girl. At least she gets to interact and play with other people not only mommy all the time. On week nights, Dad would come and take baby C for an hour or two and Mam on the other hand, spends weekends with her. Yesterday, Mam took baby C out for three hours! That gave me ample time to clean, rest a bit, prepare dinner and poofff, three hours had gone by! As of this writing, the baby is with her granny again for another three hours. I’m so blessed!

Got to prepare dinner now before the little girl comes back! Ciao!

October 8th, 2008who took little c out?

ME! I took little C out for a walk this afternoon. Honestly, it was the trash I took out. Hahaha but I could have delayed it till tomorrow but I didn’t coz I really wanted to take the little girl outside.  It’s rare to have sunny days lately and since today was one of those days, I wanted her to enjoy being outdoors again. Last summer, we were out almost everyday and she really had a grand time.

Basking under the sun at Petrin Hill, the summer of 2008

So we just walked and walked (I purposely didn’t bring her stroller) getting our share of Mr. Sunshine’s warmth with little C stopping every now and then when she gets distracted by the sounds and sights that appeals to her – the welding works in the nearby construction, the barking of the dogs, kids in their strollers, dogs running around, a broken case of a mobile phone, a friendly woman greeting her… It was a nice day, I savored every minute of it. Just me and my little C.

Whenever I want to find someone, a long time friend, a former classmate or a relative, I would scour the social networking sites. Sometimes I am lucky to find the person I’m looking for, other times I’m not.

Up to this day, there is this one person whom I haven’t found yet. She was a good friend during my elementary years that I have lost contact when she transferred to another school. I remember her as a kind girl and we sort of made a pact that we’ll remain friends no matter what. I wonder if she still remembers all that.

Anyway, my hopes were renewed after finding the search engine called Lookupwho.com which I can use to locate my friend for free. I only need to input her name and the state where she’s living and the search engine will look it up for me. Unfortunately no match was found. =( My guess is that she might have been married and is now using a different family name and she’s not living in the US. Hopefully Lookupwho.com can come up with people search for other countries as well so I’ll have better chances of finding my friend. They’re currently supporting searches within the US and Canada only.

But for those who are sure of the names of the persons and state they’re located, go ahead and try it, it’s all for free anyway.

October 6th, 2008let’s go to the kitchen!

I think I should create a note which tallies how many times I go to the kitchen each day.
What’s the extraordinary thing about it? kitchen is where you prepare the food and cook, it’s only likely for a homemaker to go there unless it’s along the way to the toilet or if i’m a glutton.

Anyway, aside from my own personal trips to the kitchen, my tiny companion at home always takes my hand and pulls me to the kitchen many times during the day. You should see her happy face as we take small steps towards her heaven. There are many cabinets there, and the handles are within her reach so tinkering with them makes a very tempting past time for her. Open, close, open, close. She already knows which cabinet had the food supplies, she opens this more often. And there’s another cabinet that’s full of canisters and plastic containers which she’s very fond of – pulling them out like weeds in the fields. Arghhh extra work for me!

My only consolation is, she takes me along on her kitchen trips. At least I am aware what she’s doing there unlike if she just sneaks in there on her own.

and so does this song. It goes round and round in my mind. Dang! I was playing the toddlers’ music collection of little C and the song got stuck up there. Another case of LSS (last song syndrome) on a Friday night. Lalalala Am I glad the weekend’s here? Are you?

The little girl is with her granddad now so I can wash the dishes without any whinings in the background. =)

This year will be my third to celebrate Christmas in Prague (that’s what I thought). But it might change. Weeee..

Yesterday I sent an email to our family yahoogroup asking everyone’s plan for December. I know my sister in Finland is going home for the Christmas break, but how about the rest? I wanted to know.

Soon their replies came; Asia and Europe responded. I found out all my siblings and their family will be in our hometown on Christmas and even New Year except US! Whaatttt?

October 3rd, 2008who’s calling?

Have you been bothered with a prank call? If you’re residing in the US, with the online Phone Book you’ll be able to look up for the number and get information on it. And perform a background check too. That will give you an idea who’s making behind the calls. Well, I don’t know what you’ll do next; maybe give the caller some lecture?

Anyway, the phone book lists phone numbers including cell, business, residential and even unpublished and unlisted phone numbers. From Alabama to Wyoming, you can make a search by phone numbers or cell numbers or by area codes.
