What can I say? Being a parent is the toughest and most challenging job especially if I want my child to be the “ideal” one. It’s more than just changing diapers, feeding and bathing her, playing with her… This for me is the hardest part – disciplining her. At age one, it’s hard to make her understand the difference between wrong and right, what’s acceptable and what’s not. So what’s a mom gotta do? Set a good example! Be a good role model. (Hmmmm aren’t they just the same? LOL!) What else? Hopefully when I’m done reading the book, I’ll learn more.
Did he promise you the stars, the moon and marriage too? Well, too much love can sometimes blind a person but please before you accept his marriage proposal, see the Public Marriage Records and check if he’s already got a wife number 1. Or you might be left crying with a broken heart after finding out that you’re in love with a married man.
The online public marriage records give any US citizen an access to see their data archives. They only have to fill up important information such as first name, last name, the state, etc. and they’ll see the results anytime, anywhere as long as they are wired.

The Strahov Church
One Sunday morning after attending the Mass in The Basilica of Assumption of Our Lady (Strahov Church), we went behind the building to see the scenic view of Prague. Strahov is nestled in an elevated part where you can visibly see the city of Prague and its beautiful skyline and also most of its famous buildings and attractions.
As soon as we entered the viewing deck, we were drawn to the paintings displayed beside the entrance. There were paintings of Prague’s landmarks in various media but the combination of watercolor and lithography pieces were what we liked the most. We started a little chat with the vendor who turned out to be the artist of some of the artworks being sold. Unluckily for him, what we chose and bought wasn’t his work but that of his friend. He asked where we are from, etc. etc… and the conversation lasted long.
Anyway, for 6 Euros apiece, we bought three. I casually haggled if he can give the three for only 15 Euros to which he immediately agreed to. “For the Philippines!” he smilingly said, much to my delight. I wasn’t expecting that. I thought haggling in Europe wouldn’t work! But then I told myself that it wasn’t such a big amount anyway.
3 for 15 Euros only! Images of The Tyn Church, St. Nicolas and the Charles Bridge tower
We thanked him, asked him to pose for a photo op and bade him goodbye. Only later did I realize that 6 x 3 is equal to 18 Euros, not 16. All along I thought I only got a discount of 1 Euro! Hahaha. So the lesson for the day? Sometimes being silly can work for your own benefit!
Double thumbs up for this guy for giving me a big discount! Geeeez!

It didn’t say who sent it. There wasn’t any message left in my EC message box too. Mysterious! Anyway, whoever you are, THANK YOU!
We sent off the last of our turista (my sister) who came here for summer to the airport this morning. Waaaaa! Thank God we said a hurried goodbye coz she only had 15 minutes left to run to the boarding area. I don’t like long goodbye’s actually coz I might get emotional and cry, so that was okay.

Waaaaaa!
Anyway, as we were driving home, M asked me “so, what shall we do now?” I told him I’d rather stay at home. Even if Accuweather forecasted today’s weather to be sunny and nice, I didn’t want go out. Being constantly on the move for the last 5 months, our things needed to be arranged and put back in place. There are a lot of things to do! Or I might sleep. That’s what I thought. BUT half of the day has already passed and I still didn’t do any of those. I’m feeling lazy and already missing my sistah! Waaaaa! Who knows what I’ll think next, I might scour the net for some cheap air tickets to Asia for December to be with the family again or browse on New York City Tours for the next summer.
I dread facing next week when it’s just me and little C left at home when M goes to work. I’m sure the little tyke will notice someone is missing here. Waaaaa!

Still craving for more of the tasty grilled pork we had on little C’s birthday, we decided to look for a place by the river where we could have a barbeque picnic.
The plan was to drive out of Prague and look for a nice place where we can enjoy the serene view of river and also a grassy place where little C can crawl and play on.
We invited mam to join us. And she suggested a camping site very near to our flat where there is a beautiful wide spot right by the Vltava riverbank great for picnicking or for their case, sunbathing as most of the people there were lying and toasting themselves under the sun. Anyway, since it was only a couple of kilometers drive, we saved time and gas! Goody! One more thing I like about the place is that it wasn’t crowded and to think it was Saturday.

Isn’t it nice that within Prague there’s a scenic place such as this? I think we will frequent this place as the weather permits us.
The happy picnicker:

play, play play!

ice cream break

lying on the grass with clear blue sky and the green foliage as my view
And even Ori, the dog was happy too:
