May 29th, 2008helping a friend

I have been encouraging a friend to get her own domain. She has a blog hosted on a free platform and she has started monetizing it but as we’ve known, free blogs have limited features and there are advertisers that prefer their ads to be posted on free domains. She’s finally realizing that after she failed to qualify for several assignments from advertisers. It’s her turn now to keep reminding me of helping her sign up for a web hosting company for her domain name registration and hosting services.

Since I’ve been busy, I wasn’t able to help her with it. It takes time to search for cheap best hostingcompany. I remember when I was starting then, M and I had to search and compare several hosting sites to find the best in terms of price, features, speed and size. It was a big disappointment when after I had signed up, we found a much cheaper and better hosting company.

Incidentally as I was checking on my assignments online, I found Top10webhosting.com which lists down the best hosting services in the internet. Some of the host companies offer host support, mysql, frontpage and hosting plans comes with free domain name.

Stumbling on this site, is it fate telling me to finally make a move in helping my friend? :)

May 29th, 2008what she can do

My little girl will soon be walking around the house and I’ll be the one following her around! Huhuhu… She’s growing very fast! Not that I’m complaining but the once tiny helpless creature can now do things on her own.

She’s also fond of climbing!
Just in case you miss this video of her climbing up the sofa using the pile of cushion pillows, here it is:
Little C climbing up

My parents’ friends had just come back from their 6-month vacation in London. Wow! 6 months? I wouldn’t be able to afford that, even a week-stay. London hotels would make me broke! The couple must be rich huh. Well, I don’t know about their financial status but they stayed (free of course) alternately with their 2 married children living and working there for. I asked the husband if he enjoyed his stayed there and if they were strolling a lot, he said it was winter time so they mostly stayed indoors.

Six month is a long time I bet they were able to visit famous tourists spots of the city even with the cold temperature. What’s nice is that they get free accommodation during their stay there unlike most travelers who have to stay in hotels. London hotels can be quite expensive but if you know how to search, you might be able to find some cheap London hotels.

May 29th, 2008touring US

A blogger mate recently sent me a link of their US tour pictures. They went to Universal Studios and the Disneyland. Both of these places are among the top places to visit when you’re in Los Angeles. Then there’s Hollywood. Why miss the chance to visit Hollywood when you’re already in LA, right? Other places to see are the Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Beach… you can also drive to other states such as Miami, San Francisco and New York!

May 28th, 2008investment matters

My siblings and I have been exchanging views on investments and what would be the best, especially for young couples such as we are. We have talked on several ways like the buy and sell of used cars, real estate, and mutual bonds, among others.

One gave the idea of foreign exchange, and that this is a highly profitable business, but that we have to research on this, as this is new to us. We only have a vague idea that this is Currency Trading, which deals with the buying and selling currencies, or wherein foreign currencies are traded for the domestic currency. Where would the profit be here? Hmmm we better study before jumping into conclusions, more so before taking any action on the matter of investment.

Managing large structures such as a university which also houses the staff and students can be a big task. Thanks to OEM sensor products for providing reliable and low cost solutions, the campus where my brother works uses liquid level switch for their water tank which automatically controls the water supply.

Many modern buildings make use of temperature switch to detect temperature change especially in the case of fire. Level switch, float switch, flow switch are only some of the helpful tools which can make buildings work efficiently and safely. Flow, liquid level and temperature sensors can be purchased at Compac Engineering Inc. Check out their website how you can shop online for these products.

May 27th, 2008know your heart

Can you feel your heartbeat? The heart is the most important muscle of every human since it pumps blood into the body. Once your heart stops beating, then you’re dead!

Because of poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle and other factors, more people are suffering from heart ailments. More and more people are dying because of heart attack or heart failure. According to survey, there are 1,400 people who die each day from a heart attack in the US (W.H. Howard, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.P., How to protect your heart from your doctor). To provide more information about the heart and how to help people with heart problems, St. Jude Medical created an online site where they have series of videos on heart-related issues.

It’s where I knew about ICD or implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a device which is implanted in a patient’s chest tomonitor and correct abnormal heart rhythms. How this device has helped heart failure patient Arthur Gorr can be viewed in this video link: ICD user talks about his life with ICD.

Please spread the word about the Heart Library. It may benefit him or her!
