Last Saturday afternoon, we went fruit-picking with dad and his friends. It was in a small lot not far from our place, where several fruit trees were growing -apples, pears, peaches and cherries. I was amazed at the abundant quantity of red cherries decking the lone tree. There were 6 of us gathering the fruits but we can’t even manage to wipe out everything! Our (M and I) loot alone was about 4 kilos in weight. I haven’t tasted fresh cherries yet. There were 2 kinds of cherries growing there, one was sour and the other from which we were picking were sweet and juicy. Alena warned us that some of the fruits had worms inside. This didn’t stop me from eating. There wasn’t anything else to eat there anyway and I was kinda hungry.

On the way home, a series of unfortunate events happened to me. First, I had another excruciating cramp on my left foot. I was glad it disappeared after awhile only to be followed by numbness in my head. Then I slowly felt my body weakened like my soul was leaving me… I closed my eyes. The only thing I could do was press M’s hand weakly while he was busy chattering with Dad. Fortunately I thought of opening the car window wide enough for fresh air to blow inside. All I can see was a blur of grey. I felt like I was dying… I kept on praying that I’d survive this one. The prayer and fresh air did help. Minutes passed my body regained its strength but my vision was still in a haze, from a grey blur everything was now very bright, almost blinding. Thank God, when we arrived at the parking lot, I was already well enough to walk and my sight has returned to normal.
It was really a terrible experience.
Another terrible one brought by my pregnancy.

As for the cherries, they all ended up in the trash! We found out that majority was infested with worms. Ewwww! Sweet and juicy eh? Must be the worms!
I’m so glad we’re in the internet age! Whenever I need to know something, it’s ever ready to answer the questions bothering me. Since yesterday, I’ve noticed that my vision is impaired. I thought it was because I lack sleep the other night. So last night I was off to bed at 11pm and got up at 8am this morning hoping that the long sleep would solve the problem. It didn’t! I’m having a hard time focusing my eyes still…my vision seems to go in all direction! Waaaa
As usual I consulted Uncle Google, my ever reliable info source. Thank God! Vision does change during pregnancy! Probably it was also triggered by the long duration I was wearing my contact lens last Wednesday. I didn’t have the slightest idea that pregnancy can have so many complications! It’s like everything unusual I feel is caused by pregnancy. Tsk tsk tsk
We had an appointment with doc today, 9am but it wasn’t until 45 minutes later when our turn came. Tummy was grumbling, I was grumpy. I had a long fasting since last night coz they’ll take more blood samples from me. No food since I woke up in the morning. It’s unfair. Doctors are paid for their time, but if they are the cause of delay, they don’t pay US for OUR time they’ve WASTED!!!
No more ultra-sound this time. I complained to doc about Saturday’s incident (have to blog about this yet), but he said it’s common for a person with low blood pressure. I asked him if it weren’t signs that I’m anemic. The blood samples they took today would determine that yet. Anyway, he prescribed iron tablets for me to take. So I guess I’m really iron-deficient.
10:30am - Mart and I were munching hungrily at Mc Donald’s for a very late breakfast. grrrrr!!! He was as furious as I was for the delay in the clinic. For sure many clowns were already patiently waiting for him to show up in the office and the 3 hours he missed would have enabled him to accomplish tons of work!
12:28pm - Now I’m sleepy and a bit hungry. I’ll be out again with friends tonight so I’ll need to rest.
Caukeee!
Because it was a nice sunny day, we decided to have a little picnic at Petrin Hill after the Mass instead of watching Shrek 3. We bought our take-out food (chicken & beef kung-pao) at Panda, a Chinese fastfood restaurant and took it with us to the hill.
We found a nice shady spot where we sat and ate our late lunch. It was beautiful - relaxing ambience, fresh air and a panorama of trees around us. After eating, M and I took a short nap on the grass before heading home.

Friday afternoon was spent tidying up our place for the landlady’s visit the following day. Fortunately M was able to scram out from work at 5 (which is supposedly the time his work ends everyday but yeahhh, he’s always overworked!). So there we were busy watering the plants, vacuuming all the rooms, wiping off the dust from counter tops, tables, etc. M did most of the work actually while I did what my little bloating self would allow me.
We’ve amassed a big bulk of garbage over the week mostly water & milk bottles and pizza boxes. Decomposing trash goes to separate garbage bag which M drops off on his way to work during mornings. We’re such an efficient team! After an hour or two we have a spick and span place again!
Then my bad luck happened. While I was pottering in our balcony garden, I thought of arranging the plants. When I moved the cactus pot, it tilted and lost balance. My instinct told me to grab it… I grabbed it all right, first the pot but the cactus was too heavy so I held firmly on its thorny body. Utter terror! Screams of pain! M was quick to come to my rescue but my hands we’re already bruised with fine red thorns. Sakit!
I actually cried like a small child hehehe.
It’s ours…
I got the good news from Mom exactly a week ago.. I was teary-eyed coz of joy! What a blessing! Thank you so much Lord! muahhh

The package I have been waiting for every single day is finally in my hands! Yehey! But wait… it was lying in the post office for 10 days already. Dang! Such a waste of time! I wonder why the notice arrived only yesterday. Nonetheless with no perishable content inside, I consoled myself with the fact that the package didn’t get lost at all! Just delayed hmmm nope just carelessly ignored by the post office peeps!
M was sweet enough to pick it up before heading to work while I cooked pancakes with half-closed eyes. Between sleep and hunger, hunger always wins! I couldn’t and can’t sleep with a grumbling tummy. I was happy with my new treasures yet feeling dizzy all day due to lack of sleep.
Mom’s sms jolted us out of sleep at an unholy hour of 4am. waaaaaaaaa But Mai has successfully done her assignment despite the thrilling situation she was in and the parents we’re quick to wind things up for me and M. Yeah, you don’t know what I’m talking about!
